Our Thoughts on This is America, Charlie Brown! by Warner Bros.
For me, I grew up watching Charlie Brown, and still do – especially when the holiday shows show up each year right before Christmas. It’s like a blast from the past and the neat thing is that I get to share it with my girls and some new friends. This DVD was no exception.
We actually had a chance to watch this movie with some friends, a 5-year old little boy, Kaleo, his 3- year old cousin, Mia, and Kaleo’s mom.
The consensus was that it was perfect for somewhat older kids because neither the 5-year old nor his little cousin paid much attention for more than a few minutes at a time. Although, they were probably very distracted because they had company over (my 8 and 10-year old daughters), and would probably have paid more attention if they were home alone.
BUT, we enjoyed it. We enjoyed the sarcastic talk between the Peanuts gang, and loved the fact that you got several history lessons thrown in at the same time. This is a great, and easy, way to teach history to kids, and keep them interested and entertained at the same time.
This is also a great DVD to pop in during the holidays. Like the week of Thanksgiving.
Thanks Warner Bros., for the blast from the past!
