Overweight Mom
I’m right at 50 pounds overweight and my youngest daughter still takes every opportunity to let me know it. I started at the gym a few weeks ago, and I’ve only missed 2 days, but it seems like my weight hasn’t changed although I walk about 2.3 or 2.4 miles each day, walk the random course, and I increase my intensity level every other day.
While my eating habits haven’t changed much, I thought my adding exercise I’d at least see some type of change. Instead, my weight simply fluctuates within a 3 pound range.
New Opportunity
Back during the spring of 2012 I applied to be a Team Cinchspiration blogger. It was a sponsored program where Shaklee provided 50 bloggers with free product in hopes that they’d follow the plan, lose both weight and inches, and share with their readers their results. For the bloggers it was an opportunity to lose weight, have some accountability on their blogs, and be healthier. For the company it was a chance to show just how effective their products are – and get them in front of a large group of people in a fun way. Win, win, right?
I wasn’t chosen.
Well, now the program has changed from the Team Cinchspiration plan to the Shaklee 180™ Blogger program and this time around I was chosen as one of 90 representative bloggers! I’m stoked! Combine 5 hours of exercise each week, plus a new eating plan, and I expect to lose a lot of weight over the next 6 months. I couldn’t be happier for the opportunity.
Weight Loss Breakthrough
Could this be it? Could this be the kick in the pants I need to lose the weight I need? I really hope so!
If you’d like to support the other bloggers here’s the big list.

Disclosure: I wasn’t compensated for this post. I will receive free product in exchange for progress reports over the next 6 months. Hopefully, the accountability of the program will help me make a dent in my 50 pound goal.

oh wow- congrats- cant wait to see the updates..wish i could afford it..
I know. On the face it looks expensive but if you’re already spending the money on Starbucks or going out to eat, then it’s cheaper. I did the math and between lunches and dinner out, and soda and snacks at the gas station and fast food drive bys, I’m actually saving money – but only if I stick to the plan for the majority of the time, and that the meals we eat are actually at home. The girls and I already made a pact to only eat out once a week, and this is more incentive – because I’ll need to continue to pay for these myself if I haven’t lost all my weight by the time the program is over.
But I really appreciate your comment! I hope the accountability really helps.
