But we don’t have to wait until it’s delivered to view it. With Vudu, we can register online to have the movie mailed to us and receive an early digital copy on November 16th. I’ve never done this before – used Vudu, pre-ordered a movie for delivery, or streamed a movie from my computer to my television – so I’ll let you know how easy it was (or not!). The real fun will be watching Men In Black 3 with my neighbors!
The girls and I left for Walmart shortly after I got home from work. Coco was excited because she got to pick out a costume to wear to school tomorrow. And she couldn’t wear the dress I bought her for her princess party and save me money. Then she told me she wants to be a cheerleader for Halloween. Not a princess or Tinkerbell. A cheerleader. Welcome to the life of a single mom. Apparently I overcompensate by buying costumes. Sigh…
After we found the Tinkerbell outfit we went in search of MIB3. It took a little while since there wasn’t an official display, but we eventually found the pre-order movie box. Courtney was actively searching for it since she’s still learning to read. Although she wasn’t the one who found the box, she was excited to read the cover.
And since we can’t have a movie without candy, we each chose something different to snack on. Clearly I didn’t explain that the movie snacks were for the movie since both girls opened their snacks already. Sigh…
On to Vudu.com
So I headed on over the vudu.com website and it asked for an activation code. That was my cue to unwrap the movie box. It didn’t occur to me to do so beforehand Inside, where the DVD would normally reside, was an instruction sheet with the activation code. It said there are only 3 easy steps. It was right.
I entered the activation code, signed up for Ultra Violet (UV for short) – a system for storing my Vudu movies in the cloud, provided my mailing address to ship the movie, earned a FREE movie (I chose Fly Away Home which I’ve never seen), and completed the entire process. Although I didn’t time it, I spent less than 4 or 5 minutes from start to finish. And that I am proud of. Now I just need to tackle watching the digital copy on my television. But that’s for another post.
I can see where pre-ordering a movie as part of a gift set would be a cool gift idea.
Are you excited to see MIB3 on DVD or Blu-Ray? Did you watch the others?
In the meantime follow our trip to Walmart. I promise not to show you where I forgot that I bought ice cream sandwiches and, therefore, didn’t remember to put said ice cream sandwiches in the freezer. Until we were home for 2 hours already. I promise.
