Your kids will love you. Almost more than my grandmother will love me if I decide to gift this to her. Seriously!
I have an ice cream attachment on my stand mixer. I also have a cheapy ice cream maker. For both of them I have to freeze the bowl in advance – preferably for 24 hours. But I don’t have a large freezer and freezer space is at a premium in my house. So making homemade ice cream with either of those units is a pain.
But now I have a commercial quality NewAir AIC-210 Ice Cream Maker. And I’m liking it.
First, I like to make our foods homemade. Whether I’m making a main dish, side dish, or dessert, I like to know what ingredients are going into the foods we eat. When I make my own ice cream, I can do that. And when the process is easy, that makes me happy. When mama is happy, the whole family is happy. Plus, my kids can help pour, stir, and press the ON button, so they’re in love before the first bite all the way to the last…
I will have to say that, in order to avoid having to freeze a bowl every time you want to make ice cream (or sorbet, or yogurt, or gelatos), you’ll be investing in a larger machine. This machine takes up serious real estate on your counter. Just be aware. I don’t have a lot of kitchen gadgets so I’m okay with a large machine. When it’s not in use I have storage underneath the stairs so it’s not in the way.
Here’s what it looks like when the 60-minute timer goes off…Homemade vanilla ice cream made using raw milk and homemade vanilla extract gets my vote! Look and see what other ice cream makers NewAir makes.
Disclosure: I received an ice cream maker to facilitate my review. The opinions expressed above are my own. I’m headed to the kitchen to sneak more ice cream. Don’t tell the girls…
This would be a dream come true for me! My kids go through frozen yogurt like mad and it’s so expensive to buy! I might mention it to the hubby tonight…
