About Christmas Lodge
Thomas Kinkade presents Christmas Lodge: a place where a heart-warming past and loving future meet for one remarkable group of people. During a weekend trip to the mountains, Mary (Erin Karpluk) finds herself at the now- dilapidated lodge where she spent the holidays with her family growing up. She becomes determined to restore the building to its former glory. Inspired by her grandfather and guided by her grandmother in heaven, Mary throws herself into the project, and during the process finds herself drawn to Jack (Michael Shanks), a handsome man who loves the lodge as much as she does. Historically unlucky in love, this chance encounter allows Mary to renew her faith in life and discover her one true love. For an uplifting story about the importance of faith, family and the true holiday spirit, go to the Christmas Lodge.
My Thoughts on Christmas Lodge
I enjoyed it. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t horrible either. If I had to rate the movie with stars, I’d give it 3 1/2 stars out of 5. Mary and her boyfriend go hiking in the woods near her home, and they end up rescuing a little girl whose father lives in what Mary knows as The Christmas Lodge. When Mary and her boyfriend get the little girl back to the lodge, a place Mary used to spend all of her holidays at with her family when she was younger, Mary gets so excited to visit this place that’s been in her heart and memories for most of her life.
While The Christmas Lodge is in disrepair, Mary and Jack, the new owner of the lodge. decide they’ll try to work together to restore it. Mary’s boyfriend doesn’t seem to feel the same way about the lodge. No spoiler alerts here, so you’ll need to pick up the movie to see how it ends. Like I said, I enjoyed it, but there were just some parts that appeared to be forced by the actors. While it wasn’t bad acting, it just wasn’t great acting. As far as a nice holiday story goes, it was good.
