Fooz Kids Happy Kids are Fooz Kids

Thank you to Fooz Kids for providing me with an All-In-One pack to review. The opinions I’ve expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint.

My Review

My 7 year old is infatuated with the internet. That makes me nervous. She doesn’t necessarily like to go places she’s not supposed to, but she is so curious and naive that she doesn’t understand that everyone she can potentially meet online is not her friend. This scares me!

She goes on a few websites, and I actually use a few monitoring tools, but the fact of the matter is that they tell me what’s going on after it’s already happened. And, in a bad situation afterwards can be too late. I don’t want her to stop being curious and I don’t want her to be afraid to use the internet. I just would prefer better monitoring and, as a single mom, I can’t sit next to her while she’s online. Not for the whole time. I could be making dinner, helping my other child with homework, cleaning, any number of things. So when I had the opportunity to sign my girls up with Fooz Kids, I jumped at the change.

First you download the software and set up user ids for the kids. Then they launch the software which only gives them access to certain websites. I like that. And there’s a Parental Dashboard. From here you can control your child’s websites, friends, games, and crafts. You can see the letters (emails) your child sends and receives, which is pretty important to me. I don’t think any parent is simply trying to be nosy, we’re all trying to keep our kids safe online.

Oh, and if you have a few places that aren’t already on Fooz Kids that you allow your children to visit, you can add those safe places. That way your kids can still access those websites through Fooz Kids.

You can customize the safe places for each of your children. So, if your children have different maturity levels or simply because they’re different ages, they can have access to different content as you see fit. I really enjoy that this is 100% customizable. Between the content already a part of Fooz Kids and the content you can add, as I parent you should feel more safe allowing your children online. I know I do. Now I just have to work on limiting computer time!

So far, my girls really enjoy sending messages back and forth. My 5 year old can’t read just yet but she dictates letters to her big sister and she can draw. She’s also really good using the mouse so I’d say that in the next few months she’ll be more comfortable on her own.
